We have many activities on learning english that you can do with your children. They will learn English and have fun with you at the same time. The games will help your preschool children identify the language and improve their visual sense and fine motor skills.

Name:Listen and Touch
Material:

How to play:
Step 1- Two students stand opposite to each other around a table. The teacher is the referee.
Step 2- Put colored cards in different order in front of the players and put a toy in the middle of them.
Step 3- Say the names of the cards in a certain order.
Step 4- The one who takes the toy first wins the game.
EXAMPLE
Teacher: Touch the colours…. Blue, red, green, orange,yellow
Students: (touch the colours in correct order and take the toy as fast as possible.) I GOT THE TOY!
Note: At the distance education, students can prepare the game cards by themselves and put them on the table.
Name:My Little Puppy Says

How to play:
Step 1- Bring a puppet or a toy of a puppy to the lesson and make it speak.
Step 2- When the teacher says “MY LITTLE PUPPY SAYS you are running’’, every body runs.
(Ss who aren’t running are eliminated.)
Step 3- When the teacher says only “You are running” , they don’t run.
They just wait.(Ss who are running are eliminated.)
Name:Snap Game

How to play:
Step 1- Make a circle choose one of the Ss as “it” in the middle of the circle.
Step 2– Hang one flag on the students.
Step 3- The “it” points to somebody and he/she goes one step back.
Step 4- The Ss standing on his/her right and left look at each other and tell the country hanging on the opposite student’s collar.
Step 5- The quickest one wins the game if she says the sentence correctly.
Step 6- In the second tour, the students can say the nationalities when they look at each other.

How to play:
Step 1- Divide students into groups of 4 or 5
Step 2- Tell the students to prepare fake cash money on papers then write some amounts on them such as; 1 TL, 5TL, 10TL, 20TL, 50TL
Step 3- Give each group a budget of 100TL of fake money.
Step 4- Explain that they are going to earn money by correcting the mistakes in the sentence which is written on the board.
Step 5- Put these fake paper money in the box and ask them to pick money from the box.
Step 6- When the Ss identify the error in the sentence ,they will gain the amount of money which they pick. If they can’t,they will lose that amount.
Step 7- The group who has the most money will win the game.
Name:I Spy with My Little Eye
Material:

How to play:
Step 1- Say the sentence that ‘I spy with my little eye…. something blue!’.
Step 2- The students raise their hand and say something blue in the classroom or in the picture.
Step 3- The student who says the right answer takes turns and say ‘I spy with my little eye….something….’
Step 4- For online lessons, the Ss can bring household goods as an object .

Step 1- Stick the flashcards on the board.
Step 2- Split Ss into two groups.
Step 3- Pronounce the word and the first student who smacks down the word with his/her notebook, gets the point.
Step 4- Repeat the action till one student left winning.

How to play:
Step 1- Draw a circle on the floor and write the numbers of the clock.
Step 2- Split the Ss into two groups; one group is the Hour Hand, the other is the Minute Hand.
Step 3- The Ss ask you ‘ What time is it?’ and you tell them a time.
Step 4- In turn, the Hour Hand student stands in the circle, the Minute Hand student stands out of the circle.
Step 5- Whoever stands wrong, leaves the game. Then , swap the missions of the groups.
EXAMPLE
Student: What time is it?
Teacher: It is 6 o’clock.

How to play:
Step 1- Write target words or attach flash cards on the whiteboard.
Step 2- Divide students into two teams.
Step 3- One student from each team comes to the board.
Step 4- Give each one a fly swatter .
Step 5- Give hints for one of the words on the board.
Step 6- The one who hits the correct word /picture first with his/her flyswatter, gets ten points for his/her team.
Step 7- The next two students come to the board and the teacher gives hints of the other word.
EXAMPLE
Teacher: Who serves food at a restaurant?
Students: They try to find and hit the word first.
Name:Be Fast and Do The Best

How to play:
Step 1- Prepare flashcards or pictures about weather conditions. Step 2- Divide the class into two groups.
Step 3- Ask a student from each group come to the board and pick a card. (Students have different cards)
Step 4- Ask them not to show the cards to each other and stand back to back.
Step 5- The play starts with a whistle. When you whistle, ask Ss to turn face to face quickly and show their cards to each other.
Step 6- The one who tells the meaning of the picture on his/her firend’s card first, gets the point
Step 7- The student who can not tell the weather condition on the card first, leaves the game.
Name:Memory Game

How to play:
Step 1 – Divide your class into different teams.
Step 2 – Have the Ss sit facing the board.
Step 3 – Write a short paragraph about someone’s personality or physical appearance on the board.(You can use lyrics of the songs that students like.They enjoy listening and singing songs and they also have a chance to practice new vocabulary and pronouncation.)
Step 4 – Ask students read this paragraph aloud together. They can do this two or more times depending on the lenght of it.
Step 5 – Remove some of the words and ask them read it again.
Step 6 – See the students remember the missing words in a correct order or not. Step 7 – Keep removing more and more words almost all of the passage is gone Step 8 – The one who remembers the missing words, wins the game.
Alternatively; if you want your Ss practice on personal adjectives you can remove just adjectives.
